“You give us 1%, we give you 200%” – a programme of co-financing athletic equipment for schools and sports clubs

Aims of the programme:

  • to propagate, initiate and support aimed at the promotion of sports, especially athletics;
  • to support and promote extensive sports development in the society, especially among children and young people;
  • to support actions aimed at equalizing the opportunities for the development of children and young people in sports, to increase the number of children and young people practicing athletics.

Since the lack of proper sports equipment is a frequent problem for teachers, instructors and trainers leading classes with children, the direct aim of this Programme is the co-financing of athletic equipment for schools and sports clubs.

Programme of supporting athletic sports classes for children

As part of the Programme, the Foundation has organized and financed:

  • competitions and sports events supporting the development of athletics among children and young people, with participation of over 7500 young sportspersons, including:
  • courses for becoming an athletics instructor held in 3 Polish towns: Chojnice, Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski and Twardogóra, attended by 120 people;
  • athletic competitions for children from Bydgoszcz primary schools called “Young Pedro’s Cup – Caroline B. LeFrak Foundation Cup” 2014 edition (elimination competitions and finale during the international athletic meeting “Pedro’s Cup” in Bydgoszcz);
  • a series of autumn athletic events named “Sports Generation – Caroline B. LeFrak Foundation Cup” held in September 2014 in 4 Polish cities: Szczecin, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Łódź and Bydgoszcz;
  • Caroline B. LeFrak Foundation Cup children run during the big Warsaw running event “Biegnij Warszawo”;
  • Poland-wide finale “Young Pedro’s Cup – Caroline B. LeFrak Foundation Cup” 2015 edition;
  • athletic competitions in Włocławek: “Meeting for a Child’s Smile”, co-organized by the Foundation;
  • summer edition of the competitions “Sports Generation – Caroline B. LeFrak Foundation Cup”, held in 3 Polish cities: Warsaw, Gdańsk, Poznań.

Programme of equalizing opportunities for young athletes in the years 2013-2016

The Programme aims to provide young, talented athletes with financial support, necessary in the training process. As part of the Programme, the Foundation grants to 12 athletes preparing for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro:

  • yearly sports scholarships
  • co-financing the training process
  • awards for trainers
